The Studio

The facility here at Epiphany Recording Studios (ERS) is completely first-rate, from start to finish. One major factor that gives our location its appeal is the building design and construction. Our Recording Studio is built like a musical instrument that will make everything recorded and mixed in it sound natural and full, with harmonic depth and accurate detail. Its design was intended solely for the purpose of recording audio, and the construction occurred as a result. Decoupled floors, walls and ceilings are used throughout the Recording Studio. This “room in a room” construction takes into account two important principles: sound transmission and isolation.

The Live Room features two eighteen foot tall floor to ceiling bass traps. The quietness of a room is often limited by the quietness of its HVAC system. Our Recording Studio’s HVAC is purpose built to keep air movement as quiet as possible. This is accomplished with large lined air ducts to create lower-than-normal airflow speeds. All floors are sand filled, floating on neoprene for additional sound absorption. Each room also has its own sand filled floating floor for even greater isolation. The Control Room includes a custom-built diffusion wall. Trapping and baffles are utilized to tune the room for music production.

CASEY COOPER, Lead Engineer / Producer

Casey has audio recording experience dating back to the early 90’s as an assistant engineer in reel-to-reel tracking. Since then, he has remained rooted in audio engineering, and has a wide knowledge base stemming from a multi-year education in electronics in the Navy, and branching out into the music industry thereafter. His many years as a performing musician have given him an artist’s sensitivity to further enhance his engineering and producing qualities. Casey has also been a sound reinforcement engineer for over twenty years, and has more than fifteen years of experience in computer design, construction, programming, circuit design and prototype development.

JON HERRMANN, Composer / Musician / Producer

Jon has musical experience in many genres including jazz, rock, R&B, blues, Celtic, folk, klezmer and various others. Throughout his experiences, he has undertaken a vast array of jobs and fulfilled roles equally as diverse. As a result, his skill set is well rounded enough to allow detailed and productive conversations with clients and employ their perspective, as well as work closely with other talent throughout the creative process. Jon's experience as a bass player has also contributed to his talent as a producer, given the amount of critical listening employed over the past twenty years. He has been an audio equipment operator and recording engineer for about seven years. He is also experienced in mixing and editing, and fluent with programs such as ProTools, Cubase and Ableton Live.
